Job Summary: The Legal Assistant II performs both administrative and paralegal duties, supporting attorneys or legal teams with tasks such as researching legal topics, drafting legal documents, and managing case files. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently organize information, communicate professionally with clients, and utilize technology to assist in document management. The Legal Assistant II works under moderate supervision and contributes significantly to the smooth operation of legal processes and client interactions.Responsibilities:Conduct research using statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and codes to support legal cases and topics.Draft, edit, and format various legal documents.Perform fact-finding, data collection, and analysis to assist in preparing legal documents.Organize, manage, and archive legal files and documents using document management software.Schedule meetings, hearings, and other events, coordinating with clients, attorneys, and other legal staff.Maintain client correspondence and ensure timely responses to inquiries.Support attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks.Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.Manage time-sensitive tasks and ensure deadlines are met.Assist in maintaining and updating case files and legal records. Education and Experience: Associates degreeTwo or more years of related experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role.Strong research skills, with experience in legal research databases and resources.Proficient in drafting and editing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Experience managing and organizing case files with document management software.Knowledge of legal terminology and document types.Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Excellent communication skills for client and internal correspondence.Familiarity with legal processes, procedures, and court systems.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work effectively under moderate supervision and manage multiple tasks.Preferred: Paralegal certificationExperience with M&A Budgeted salary range:Max $80,000/yrTeam Member Competencies:Understands role on the team and works to achieve goals to the best of your ability.Working within a team means there will be varying opinions and ideas.
