Job Description
Weekend SEN Support Worker / PA, Daventry, NN11. A fantastic opportunity available for a professional, engaging and proactive SEN Support Worker / PA with weekend availability to assist a fabulous Snap Care client. £146.04 Gross per Shift
Nearest Tube/Station: Not applicable, confident driver with own car essential to travel to and from the client’s family home.
Wage/Salary: £15.53 Weekdays | £16.56 Weekends | £30.06 Bank Holidays | Gross per Hour
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use on duty
Essential: Experience supporting a young person / adult with additional needs. Good cooking skills. This role is open to *female applicants only, and non-smoker / vapers
Desirable: Learning disability and non-verbal communication experience.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Sunday: 8.30am – 5.30pm. Additional hours available, rota provided 4 weeks in advance

About this client/child: Beth is a fabulous young woman; 18-years-old, very strong willed, knows her own mind, strives for her independence! Beth has a long list of hobbies and interests, and when the mood takes her, she likes to keep busy, although some days she may decide to spend much of the day chilling at home – then the plan for the day may all be changed, that is all up to Beth! She loves hearing sirens when out and about, watching the sunshine from her bedroom window, listening to musical books, watching Mickey Mouse or Little Einstein’s, and sensory lights! Beth has a Learning Disability, Epilepsy (controlled via medication), communicates via sounds and body language, and is a wheelchair user. On good days, Beth can transition into her wheelchair with minimal support and can independently go up and down the stairs at home. Beth is very able to make her likes and dislikes known, and regardless of how much encouragement or prompting is given – if she doesn’t feel like it, she won’t do it! Beth lives at home with her Mum, Dad and younger brother (16 years old) and has a support team providing day and night support.
Overview of role: Beth is reliant on others to meet all her health, care, therapy and medical needs, and support with all aspects of her ADLs. Her team continually promotes Beth’s independence, facilitates and enables her to live life to the full, and participate in meaningful activities. Beth will communicate if she would like to go out for the day, or not, she may want to stay home and relax, which typically is rocking on her bed, or sitting in her comfy chair listening to music. Beth has a great appetite, and her team all cook nutritious meals and snacks for her to ensure a varied and healthy diet, Beth’s Mum orders Gusto meal plan boxes for her each week. This role involves working on a 2:1 and 1:1 basis within the family home.
Who this job would suit: A calm, gentle, perceptive and intuitive, *female Support Worker with a real passion for care and support. You will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, and live locally. You do not need to come to this role with years and years of care experience, as training in all aspects of Beth’s care and support is available.
