Job Description

The Parklane Group are looking to expand our reach across the UK within the property, leisure and hospitality markets. From our, award winning boutique Aparthotels that Roomzzz offer to IconInc’s innovative and unrivalled accommodation for students.


We are looking to expand our Assets team and are looking for an experienced Technical Services & Facilities Manager to support in the maintenance of The Parklane Group portfolio. Reporting into the Head of Asset Management & Site Mobilisation, the role holder will work closely with internal departments to ensure our buildings within the Group are maintained to an excellent and safe standard.


The short term focus will be in supporting small works, support in the ongoing implementation of a CAFM system and learn how our building operate from a heating & cooling and mechanical point of view.


There is a good balance of reactive works as well as proactive and forward planning which aligns to the Group’s aspirations of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage service contracts by engaging with contractors, regularly assessing their performance against KPI’s and site-based feedback.
  • Maintain statutory compliance records, follow up on reports with building managers and conduct routine group records audit, as well as site audits.
  • Assist building managers with relevant information, instruction and training on compliant practices and procedures. You will collate best practices on our building assets to inform the operators.
  • You will capably understand building design and electrical and mechanical designs accordingly.
  • Take full responsibility for managing the building asset and CAFM platform using Job Logic.
  • Report on recurring faults/failures by tracking these against assets and work to eliminate root causes of the faults/failures.
  • Review customer feedback from building managers in different customer environments and propose suitable capital expenditure.
  • Maintain knowledge on industry trends and review new technologies where these enhance the quality, sustainability and energy efficiency of our building assets.
  • Liaise with suppliers to get the best long-term solutions when undertaking minor works or other remedial works.
  • Manage and co-ordinate remedial works and small works projects across all group locations.
  • Conduct Risk Assessment reviews for contractors and Hot Works as necessary.
  • Focus on root and underlying causes when managing incidents/issues and assist in compiling suitable proposals to take remedial action.
  • Assist the Head of Asset Management & Site Mobilisation, in their day-to-day role on new projects. Advise on learnings from current design, and operation, and suggest design improvements.
  • Assist with the Groups’ Environment, Social and Governance Policy and associated initiatives.
  • Be fully involved in the coordination of operational delivery and quality checks of new buildings handed over by the projects team and their appointed contractors.
  • To adhere to all company and statutory health & safety requirements
  • Work closely within set financial and budgetary structures in shortlisting and engaging with suitable contractors. You will need to work within agreed procedures in raising work orders.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • At least 2 years in a facility or building management role or a career where building management has been a core responsibility.
  • At least 2 years of facilities, contract management experience.
  • Ability to assess technical information provided by competent contractors and making appropriate decisions in undertaking works.
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical, HVAC systems and maintenance.
  • IOSH is essential
  • A NEBOSH would be advantageous or equivalent certificate to establish understanding of minimum statutory requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Building Systems and Fire Safety Systems.
  • Demonstrates effective training and presentation skills and be able to lead various safety initiatives.
  • Efficient IT and data analysis skills with a good competency of MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Be resourceful, analytical and have the ability to work well within your team and with other departments.
  • Ability to adapt approach depending on situation and circumstances
  • Be a self-starter and take ownership including excellent follow up.
  • Valid driving licence holder with own vehicle as some nationwide travel will be required.
