Don’t miss the chance to revolutionize the future with us We are seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer with a strong aerospace background to join our growing and dynamic team. As a Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will lead the design and development of flight dynamics models and support the design and validation of navigation, guidance, and control (GNC) algorithms. These models will be primarily focused on In-Orbit Servicing (IOS) and Space Situational Awareness (SSA) use cases, addressing both relative and absolute dynamics. Your role will be crucial in refining our flight dynamics models, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and integration into our GNC solutions. Experience in simulation environments is beneficial, but what matters most is your passion for aerospace engineering, drive to innovate, and commitment to advancing sustainable space operations. Tasks Design, develop, and validate flight dynamics models for spacecraft, focusing on relative and absolute dynamics for IOS and SSA scenarios. Support the integration of flight dynamics models into GNC algorithms. Support the development of GNC algorithms for navigation and control during proximity operations, rendezvous, and docking. Utilize Python and C++ to simulate and analyze spacecraft dynamics, ensuring high performance and reliability. Generate detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for various stakeholders, contributing to reviews and project milestones. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes, emphasizing accurate data handling, technical excellence, and adherence to deadlines. Stay updated on the latest advancements in flight dynamics, spacecraft GNC, and space mission technologies, promoting continuous learning within the team. Requirements Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astrophysics, Automatic Control or related fields. 2-3 years of proven experience in developing and validating flight dynamics models, with a focus on in-orbit servicing or spacecraft proximity operations. Strong coding and simulation skills using Python, C++. Solid understanding of orbital mechanics, spacecraft navigation, and GNC principles. Experience with object-oriented programming and a commitment to quality and achieving project goals. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a strong commitment to goals, quality, and a positive attitude toward growth and change. Preferred Experience PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related fields. Proven track record in key technical or lead roles in R&D projects, particularly in innovative or cutting-edge technology environments. Experience with advanced GNC algorithms, including approaches based on Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning to enhance robustness and flexibility in dynamic environments. Experience with open-source and commercial simulation frameworks (e.g. STK, Basilisk, NASA 42). Familiarity with Scrum working methodology and Agile principles, demonstrating an ability to work efficiently within iterative and collaborative development processes.
