Job Description
Job Summary: The role of Server Assistant is responsible for assisting servers in providing quality food and beverage service to guests according to outlined food and beverage standards, courteously and efficiently; not limited to, maintaining cleanliness of tables, service areas, and equipment and including, stocking all wares and equipment needed for service.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
* Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
* Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guestsMaintain positive guest relations at all times.
* Be familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
* Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
* Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
* Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper table set ups.
* Complete opening side duties:check station assignments and complete work to be done, transport supplies from storeroom to the Restaurant as assigned, set up trash receptacles and breakdown area following departmental specifications, stock condiments and supplies as laid down in departmental standards, set up bread station as laid down in departmental standards, prepare beverage stations as assigned as laid down in departmental standards, retrieve clean linen from laundry and stock in the restaurant, fold napkins as required, stock and polish all side station wares to the stated levels required for business.
* Serve water to all guests.
* Serve bread and butter.
* Serve coffee, tea and other designated non-alcoholic beverages
* Remove soiled wares and other items from tables as assigned.
* Transport tray from the restaurant to breakdown area; separate wares and food.
* Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables.
* Place additional utensils and wares on tables as directed.
* Refill non-alcoholic beverages.
* Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
* Replenish wares in side stations throughout shift.
* Clean coffee machine and other beverage equipment as assigned.
* Complete closing duties as assigned: properly store all reusable goods, breakdown all food stations, breakdown all beverage stations, restock items for next service, transport all dirty linen to proper receptacles, secure all supplies at shift end, sort and polish all silverware.
* All other duties assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
* Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
* CPR Training ( can be obtained after employment )
* Must be at least 18 years old ( to serve alcohol )
* Previous customer service experience preferred but not required
* Some former restaurant experience helpful
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Detail oriented and thorough
* Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
* Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
* Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
* Ability to multitask
* Ability to memorize seating charts
* Ability to identify different drinks and menu items correctly
* Ability to work as part of a team
