This position is located in Acadia National Park, in the Buildings and Utilities Division. The typical seasonal period for this position is May thru November, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2025

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION (SCREEN OUT) OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES WORK PRACTICES (INCLUDES KEEPING THINGS NEAT, CLEAN, AND IN ORDER) ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC. (RELATED TO MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATION) ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY ABILITY TO OPERATE SAFELY (NON-MOTOR VEHICLES) RELIABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY AS A MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. You must meet level 2 on the screen out factor/element and an average of level 2 on all factors/elements. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT): Experience with operating motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds for hauling, dumping and stock piling materials; routes are prescribed; loads are loaded and secured before transporting; perform light maintenance on all vehicles operated (e.g., monitoring fluid levels, checking tire pressures); work is closely monitored and reviewed upon completion. You must possess and maintain a current Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License prior to entrance on duty. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
