All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/23/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: Experience- At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing aquatic biological science technician work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes activities such as: collecting field data related to aquatic biological resources using standard protocols, inputting aquatic resource field data into existing databases, and maintaining aquatic field instruments and data collection devices. You must include hours per a week worked. -OR- Education: Successful completion of at least a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study, or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses, such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 6 semester hours of courses must have been directly related to the position to be filled. You must include transcripts. -OR- A combination of specialized experience and education as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a bachelor's degree, in excess of 60 semester hours, and divide by 60 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing aquatic biological science technician work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes activities such as: working with diverse forms of aquatic resource data, summarizing and interpreting aquatic resource field data, preparing reports and GIS analysis of aquatic resource data. You must include hours per week worked -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion at least one year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with a major study in a directly related field such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture or mathematics. You must include transcripts -OR- A combination of specialized experience and education as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing aquatic biological science technician work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes activities such as: preparing novel aquatic resource field protocols, creating professional quality interpretations of results and statistical analysis of aquatic resources, mentoring volunteers or other employees in quality data collection and stewardship related to aquatic resources. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion at least one year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with a major study in a directly related field such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture or mathematics. You must include transcripts. -OR- A combination of specialized experience and education as described above.To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent).
