Maintenance Worker

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Knowledge of materials Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Screen Out: Have experience performing the full range of duties of a Maintenance Worker, WG-4749-07 without more than normal supervision. This experience is defined as: 1) basic competence in the carpentry, roofing and painting trades; 2)ability to safely use hand and power tools of the trades listed (carpentry, roofing, painting); 3) knowledge to perform a basic visual examination to identify original historic fabric in the context of a historic structure; 4) follow written and oral instruction; 5) ability to demonstrate a general knowledge of and to follow current OSHA regulations/procedures and trade code requirements applicable to buildings and their maintenance and construction; 6) ability to obtain a basic knowledge of the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and obtain knowledge of the National Park Service policies, guidelines and procedures for the preservation and conservation of historic structures.
