Job Description

This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform manual labor tasks involving the use of common hand-tools and simple power equipment.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprints) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Work Practices (including keeping things neat, clean, and in order) SCREEN OUT: QUALIFICATIONS: Performed the complex laborer tasks requiring heavy physical effort including operating hand tools and simple power equipment such as hand lawnmowers, walking-type power mowers, handsaws, hatchets, and clippers to perform tasks such as mowing lawns, clearing small trees and bushes; used shovel to dig ditches and trenches, fill holes and remove sand, dirt, etc.; moved, arranged and collecting cleaning equipment and materials, furniture; collect and empty garbage cans; loads, unloads heavy items by hand, hand trucks or dollies; did manual labor work which required frequent lifting and moving of objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. I performed these duties as an expert with a high degree of independence. My supervisor assigned work orally, through work orders, or with written specifications as to what needed to be done. My work was checked to see that it met compliance with work and safety standards and policies.
