Interim Privacy Counsel

Job Description
A leading luxury goods company is looking to hire an Interim Counsel with a background in retail, technology, media or communications to focus on reinforcing their digital and privacy strategy.
This is 12 month FTC contract working on a hybrid basis reporting to the group Chief Legal Counsel.
Role overview:
- advise on the groups platforms and online compliance, digital (contracts), technology (contracts/AI/crypto) and privacy (cookies, marketing consents, data processing agreements and data transfers)
- Draft, review, negotiate and comment on a wide variety of legal and commercial documents, including those specific to Platforms, Digital & Privacy.
- Assist with global data privacy-related matters, including those related to AI, blockchain, data protection impact assessments, transfer impact assessments and data subject requests (such as data subject access requests and right to be forgotten requests).
Candidate profile:
- 6+ PQE with experience in providing technology and privacy-related legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters in a multinational environment.
- England & Wales qualified Solicitor or Lawyer from a commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Experience in drafting, negotiating, reviewing and project managing a wide variety of digital and technology contracts and data processing agreements.
- Experience in e-commerce, digital, technology, AI and privacy-related topics (for which in-depth knowledge of the GDPR and e-Privacy Directive is essential).
- Experience in updating legal knowledge management and legal tech
- Exposure to luxury or retail industries are beneficial but not a prerequisite.
