The Role
As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring seamless service and consistently high standards across every aspect of the business. From managing a talented team to driving sales and ensuring an outstanding customer experience, you will play a key role in maintaining the business' reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth service across both the restaurant and bar, maintaining high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of managers, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Cultivate a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages personal and professional growth.
- Guest Experience: Ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience, from their first interaction to their last. Address customer feedback, resolve concerns, and continually elevate service standards.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability by implementing effective cost control measures, maximising revenue, and optimising operational efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, drinks, and service, while adhering to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Strategic Input: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement new menu items, seasonal promotions, and marketing strategies to keep the venue fresh, exciting, and competitive.
- Event Coordination: Manage private events, special occasions, and group bookings, ensuring they are executed smoothly and to the highest standards.
- Supplier Relations: Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of the finest ingredients and products.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Proven experience as a General Manager or Operations Manager in a busy, modern dining restaurant or bar environment, ideally within central London.
- Leadership: Strong, hands-on leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
- Passion for Hospitality: A genuine passion for modern hospitality, a love for great food and drink, and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Financial Expertise: Sound understanding of business operations, including budget management, P&L, cost controls, and profit maximisation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with guests, staff, suppliers, and senior management.
- Problem-Solver: Ability to think quickly and find creative solutions in a fast-paced environment, maintaining calm and professionalism under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in both service and operational procedures, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at all times.
- Adaptable: Comfortable in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment, with the ability to remain flexible and agile as needs change.
