The Project:
The new blocks are split across three sites around Hackney Wick station and include over-station elements. Rising to eight stories, the brick-clad blocks will provide 190 mixed-tenure affordable units, 31 of which will be affordable rent and 159 units available for shared ownership. This is a £75m contract for the main works on its Hackney Yards residential development around Hackney Wick railway station.
Main Responsibilities:
* Review the programme/ tracker programme, read the ERs and familiarise yourself with the project, requirements, the specifications and the project drawings.
* Understand who the sub- contractors are, make sure they have a competent manager who understands the drawings and specification. Identify long lead in items, and place order accurately and on-time.
* Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
* Resolve technical problems at all levels.
* Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
* Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitably checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
* Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location and serial number of equipment used.
* Maintain accurate QA, photograph all works to meet the ACL requirements, NHBC building control and your QA system. All QA forms must be updated and located in the Site Managers office for inspection by all. All QA sheets must be signed and dated. Inspect the skills of the labour / tradesmen, making sure you are satisfied with the workmanship, material used and efficiency of work and sign off on their works at the end of each task and prior to the sub-contractor leaving site. You must review and confirm that the consultant’s drawings are all coordinated and mistakes / errors in drawings are highlighted and advised to the responsible consultant prior to setting out and construction.
We’re Looking For:
* An Engineering degree
* Chartered member of ICE
* NHBC Standards
* Building Regulations (including Part B)
* Temporary Works Co-ordinator
* At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position with a main contractor
