Job Description
Are you an experienced business development professional with a passion for driving growth and leading successful teams? We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a dynamic organisation in the heart of Birmingham, with a focus on expanding commercial activities and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
As the Business Development Manager, you will lead the sales team and work closely with the Managing Director to deliver on sales strategies, identify new commercial opportunities, and manage a portfolio of venues. You will be instrumental in growing revenue from conferences and events, as well as expanding the venue offerings within the Birmingham area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the sales team to drive business growth and profitability.
* Develop and implement sales, marketing, and business strategies.
* Work closely with the Managing Director to introduce new venues to the portfolio.
* Manage key accounts, develop new business opportunities, and maintain strong client relationships.
* Oversee the company's accommodation and venue-finding service, negotiating rates and commissions with Birmingham hotels.
* Be a key figure in local business networking, leading a monthly event for Birmingham-based businesses.
* Mentor and develop your team to deliver high-quality customer service and business success.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven track record of delivering profit targets and leading successful sales teams.
* Extensive experience in business development, commercial strategy, and budget management.
* Strong leadership, negotiation, and customer service skills.
* Ability to manage marketing campaigns and social media platforms.
* Familiarity with CRM and PMS systems is advantageous.
* Experience in the hospitality industry, ideally with some exposure to the arts sector.
