INTERIOR DESIGNER

WDC Creative is a full-service design consultancy based in Manchester, using our specialist expertise to strengthen the brands we work with through creating inspiring spaces, engaging branding, and user-centric digital touchpoints. Our clients operate across multiple sectors including retail, hospitality, leisure, and professional services. We focus on delivering quality, creativity, and added value and sustainability and our environmental impact is always front of mind.

We’re now looking for a talented midweight interior designer (minimum of 4 years relevant post graduate UK work experience) to join our team. This is a full-time role, ideally working out of our office in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, and is initially offered for a fixed term period of 4 months, with the potential to extend.

Hands-on experience of retail design projects is something we're particularly looking for. Previous applicants need not reapply.

The role:

The role will include the following aspects:

• Ability to generate initial concepts and ideas for retail environments – providing the necessary visuals, moodboards, plans and information.
• General research and specifying of lighting, furnishings, fittings, materials and finishes.
• Attending meetings on-site with contractors where necessary, to ensure the end results are true to the initial vision.
• Ability to create detailed and accurate drawing packages.
• Continually looking for opportunities to improve the way we work and operate creatively and collaboratively so that our work is consistently high quality.

What we’d like you to bring:

• Degree-level education in interior design or similar subject
• At least 4 years experience working in interior design in the UK (retail experience is preferable)
• A positive ‘can-do' attitude and the ability to work collaboratively to share your ideas
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an excellent command of English
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• A love of teamwork, plus the confidence and self-motivation to work under your own steam when necessary

Proficiency in:

• AutoCad (and the ability to develop floorplans and elevations) - ESSENTIAL
• Sketchup (and the ability to use rendering software) - ESSENTIAL
• Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Indesign and Photoshop) - ESSENTIAL
• Enscape - DESIRABLE
