Job Description

We are recruiting for a multi-skilled Marketing Manager to join The Oxford Collection, a small, independently-owned collection of two 5-star plus luxury hotels and three stunning restaurants, all in central Oxford.

Our hotels; the Old Bank and Old Parsonage, are situated in historic landmark buildings within easy reach of the most popular attractions in the city centre. Along with complimentary parking and guest bicycles, a genuine, warm welcome makes these hotels the best places to stay in Oxford.

Our restaurants; Quod, Gees and Parsonage Grill, are Oxfords most popular destinations for visitors to the city and locals alike. Serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, ingredients are locally sourced where possible, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. Each venue also offers private dining and event spaces.

Purpose of Role:
To organise, lead and oversee the activities underpinned by the Company marketing strategy, and the marketing activity calendar. To coordinate all activities in relation to advertising, social media, graphic design and branding, email marketing, PR & Communications, website management, copywriting, photography, owned event management, market research and development, as well as overarching and associated marketing administration and reporting.

Reporting to: The Managing Director

Collaborate with: MD & Chairman, Director of People, Head of Revenue & Sales, HODs, external service providers and agencies.

Eligibility to work within the UK must be proven and two references should be available on request.

    We are offering a full-time position across a 35-hour working week, Monday to Friday (9am-5pm), with an opportunity to earn up to £40,000 per annum, including non-contractual service charge (tronc).

The Scope of the Role Includes:

Website Management

  • Manage, maintain and continuously update all company websites backend, copy and imagery - Ensure SEO best practice is used to increase web traffic
  • Collaborate with the MD and Head of Revenue & Sales regarding hotel offers, packages and OTA initiatives and generate copy and collateral
  • Liaise with our website developer to coordinate design updates and approved developments to the websites

Email Marketing

  • Lead and support the planning, writing and release of promotional campaigns, seasonal campaigns, and newsletters to engage audiences, and drive sales and awareness
  • Maintain and create email lists and subscriber segments for targeting and retargeting
  • Maintain and create the design of various CTAs and email templates
  • Develop a lead generation strategy to increase email subscriptions

Graphic Design, Branding, Copywriting, Imagery

  • Maintain all printed and digital collateral in-house and/or work with necessary illustrators/agencies to design specific collateral and merchandise
  • Create advert assets including creative copywriting
  • Print proof new collateral and merchandise incl. restaurant menus and hotel collateral, etc. Brief graphic designers, photographers, videographers and illustrators, etc. and oversee photoshoots or filming
  • Plan and release inspirational, informative and engaging blog/social/email etc. content each month to engage audiences, capture new leads with topical material and drive sales
  • Ensure cohesion in brand identity and style across all mediums. Maintain corporate styling and full brand guidelines

Advertising

  • Work with external agencies to monitor and manage our search engine optimisation strategy, online advertising activity and PPC campaigns
  • Monitor reports that show campaign performance, ROI, and other channel metrics. Conduct regular data audits to maintain and improve the quality of the marketing database
  • Analyse and report on the effectiveness of all digital marketing campaigns

Social media

  • Liaise with our in-house social media ambassadors and external content creators to produce planned social media posts, and to proof spontaneous initiatives
  • Increase our followers across all active social media platforms via interesting and authentic engagement.
  • Promote our brands and identities and market our businesses in a way that fits with brand values

PR & Communications

  • Provide operational support to the HODs by way of information via our marketing calendar, by communicating internal and external initiatives, relevant local or national events which might impact our operations. website developments and PR activity
  • Maintain companywide awareness of all relevant TOC news, promotions, offers, packages, website updates, partnership initiatives and rebrands
  • Point of contact for all PR, influencer and media enquiries; arrange interviews, statements, where relevant, brand aligned and appropriate
  • Create and deliver press releases and other communications such as articles, whitepapers, listicles, notices and company announcements, etc, in consultation with the wider teams
  • Respond to requests for information with brand-appropriate partners and media
  • Secure free and sponsored press editorials to increase brand awareness and publicise planned promotions by regularly communicating with media and press contacts
  • Assist with the planning and execution of promotional events and presentations using our own hospitality resources, as required by the MD or Chairman
  • Maintain affiliate listings on line and source backlink opportunities
  • Explore local events and opportunities with local community partners and pursue beneficial collaborations/partnerships
  • Research annual community and hospitality/industry awards and accolades and prepare and execute applications for the awards
  • Act as a brand ambassador and guardian for all identities belonging to The Oxford Collection, ensuring coherence and consistency amongst all internal and external branding i.e., logos, email signatures, phrasing, tag lines, tone of voice, use of up-to-date imagery etc.
  • Ensure press material, image library, third-party websites etc. are updated and accurate.
  • Ensure media and partners lists are accurate, updated and well maintained.

Marketing Administration & Management

  • Support the creation and implementation of TOC annual marketing strategy, editorial campaign calendar and seasonal promotions through relevant content initiatives
  • Manage the predefined company-wide marketing budget
  • Manage The Oxford Collection Loyalty Programme
  • Monitor our online reviews across all platforms and report monthly
  • Report on all functional areas of the department as required and annually

Person Specification

  • Minimum of 3 years marketing experience, ideally in a hospitality environment
  • Marketing related degree or equivalent is desirable
  • High level of competency in graphic design and key design packages. Experience of digital content & social media, including scheduling programmes
  • High competency copywriting skills
  • Branding experience
  • Knowledge of CRM databases, including segmentation & targeting for personalisation
  • Solid understanding of analytics and business reporting
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving environment, with an ability to handle numerous projects with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised, with good time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Adaptable, with a willingness to learn
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Computer literate Excel, Word, Mac & Windows OS
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
