Contracts Manager
Projects: New Build and Refurbishment - £100k to £5 million
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + car + 25 days holiday + bonus
A well-known building contractor based in Portsmouth is searching for a Contracts Manager.
The company has been trading for over 30 years and has a long tradition of building and refurbishing projects including public houses, hotels, residential & local authority sectors.
Projects undertaken including major or minor refurbishments, new build and major extensions ranging from £100k to £5 million.
They are looking for a self-motivated Contracts Manager with commercial management, programming and man management experience.
Must have strengths in communication, building successful team ethics, ultimately providing clients with forward thinking process of construction and on time profitable projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Program jobs and motivate site teams.
Managing and overseeing all aspects of project works.
Supervising assigned company personnel and sub-contractors.
Implementing project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
Undertaking regular formal inspections of sites and sub-contractors work in accordance with company policy.
Preparing progress reports and technical reports for clients and for internal use.
Ensuring client satisfaction during projects and at handover.
Dealing with contractual matters.
Supporting the preparation of bids when required.
Keeping up to date with industry best practice.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
Good IT skills (Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Autocad)
HNC Level Qualification (Preferable not essential)
Be able to take-off drawings
Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both customers and all levels of staff
Problem solving skills and analytical thinking
