Berenjak are seeking a Executive Chef to join their team. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate about all things food and drink. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced %Headline% looking for a new role in an award winning, critically acclaimed group.

The Location

Berenjak, the Iranian restaurant from Kian Samyani and JKS Restaurants. Our Borough Market restaurant follows Berenjaks first site, which opened in Soho in 2018 and was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2019. Berenjak Borough offers an expanded menu that includes several new homestyle Iranian dishes, alongside all the signature Berenjak classics. Just as the original Berenjak introduced diners to the flavours of Tehrans hole-in-the-wall eateries, the new restaurant brings the classic charcoal-grilled kebabs, such as the minced lamb koodibeh and poussin jujeh tond, for which Berenjak is best known. Many of the signature mazeh small plates from our Soho restaurant also make the jump to Borough, including the black chickpea hummus, the Panir Sabzi (Persian feta with radish, fresh herbs, and nuts), and the taftoon clay-baked sourdough seeded flatbread.

The Position

As Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high quality and innovative dishes throughout the whole operation; you will play a key role in menu development, working closely with the Directors. You will manage the overall kitchen operation as well as the day to day management of the kitchen team.

If you have the following, then we want to hear from you:

• Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high quality Restaurant;
• Strong awareness of trends and seasonality of produce;
• A highly creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail;
• Proven ability to manage, train and motivate a Kitchen brigade;
• Experience in managing staff costs, scheduling and reviewing staff rotas;
• Strengths in finances, purchasing and menu costing;
• A working knowledge of health and safety, compliance and procedures;
