Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Live-in Housekeeper to join a private residence in beautiful West Oxfordshire.
This position offers the opportunity to work for a family with three children and manage the smooth operation of their 13-bedroom house, along with an additional guest houses.
The role requires dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the familys comfort and enjoyment during their weekends and over the holidays.
The successful candidate will work with a wider team of household staff including a Butler, Housekeepers, and a Chef.
Job dutiesResponsibilities of the Housekeeper in West Oxfordshire include:
- Perform housekeeping duties, focusing on keeping the household in impeccable condition at all times
- Provide impeccable, professional, and discreet service to the family and their guests, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment
- Assist with setting up and serving meals, drinks and refreshments during weekend gatherings, maintaining the highest service standards
- Take on full butler duties in the Butlers absence, including overseeing service and household management to ensure continuity
- Maintain confidence and rapport with the family, offering attentive and personalised support during their time in residence
- Ensure the dining area, tableware, and linens are impeccably presented for all meals and gatherings
- Greet and welcome guests on arrival and assisting with their belongings
- Address guest requests promptly and professionally, ensuring a seamless experience
- Assist with wine service, including decanting, serving, and adhering to wine etiquette standards
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed to uphold the estates pristine condition
- Collaborate closely with other household staff to ensure a cohesive and efficient team environment
- Support with various ad-hoc tasks as required, such as pet care, transportation arrangements, or event setup
- Previous experience in a similar role within a private household, superyacht or luxury hospitality environment
- A legal right to work in the UK
- A full driving licence
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficient knowledge of etiquette, service protocols, and standards
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food and beverage service
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Highly adaptable and flexible approach
- Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
A five bedroomed farmhouse, will be provided, which is a short walk from the main house. This will be shared with other staff members.
HoursFull-time hours, between Wednesday and Monday.
