Job Description
Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Diss, is seeking a meticulous and motivated Production Planner to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and routing special parts to ensure they are manufactured in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. You will work closely with multiple departments, including production and packing, to ensure seamless operations. If you have experience in ERP-driven planning and possess excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, this could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Planner:
Plan and route special parts for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to safety standards, efficiency, and cost goals.
Develop and download cutting programs for laser and punching machines.
Create and manage sheet packing lists, ensuring correct build order, weight limits, and compliance with customer requirements.
Track progress and raise any issues with the Senior Production Planner.
Conduct regular stock checks on punched and ground coat sheets, maintaining accuracy and updating the ERP system accordingly.
Ensure the timely closure of production jobs to streamline information flow within the ERP system.
Identify and correct job booking errors, escalating any recurring problems to the Senior Production Planner.
Support metal product purchasing, including updating lead times and managing stock levels.
Investigate stock discrepancies to ensure the ERP system data is accurate and reliable.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of ERP systems and processes.
Provide support and coverage for the Planning Team as needed.
Maintain a focus on health and safety, both for yourself and others in your work area.
Deliver a high level of service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and take on additional tasks as required.Essential Skills & Attributes needed for this Production Planner role:
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
IT proficient with strong administrative abilities.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proven experience in a planning role within an ERP system.
Organized with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Benefits:
