Job Description
1st Staff Limited are one of the leading alternative providers working nationwide with specialist staff helping students from 4-25 years of age with both education and therapeutic needs.
The Role
1st Staff are looking for two tutors for one student that suffers from ASD, traits of ADHD, hypermobility, severe learning difficulties, social and communication difficulties and sensory difficulties. We ideally are looking for one male and one female for this particular 19 year old male student. This particular student needs help and guidance with functional living skills: cooking, dress appropriately, understand basic bills. Aswell as guidance with motor skils: use shoelaces, use scissors, use a computer.
Unlike other agencies, 1st Staff also provide a support network for all of our tutors such as a lead tutor for your specific area, designated safeguarding leads, curriculum leads for Maths and English, Behavioural specialist and a Head of education .
Position Details
* Location - Students home
* Hours - 10 hours per week (to include the 1 hour per week above spent on cooking)
* Start date - ASAP
Skills & Experience Required:
* Confidence working with a range of SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour
* Being able to cater lesson plans to the child's individual's needs
* Demonstrating a nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management skills.
* Rapport building with the child
* Good communication skills
* Being able to identify existing and potential barriers to students’ learning and help them to overcome them
* Be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to the individual needs
* Have previous experience of working with children who have special educational needs
* Have a positive attitude and willingness to build a rapport with the child
