DHCW is about to embark on a Programme to modernise and transform the way that it delivers its national digital services and is looking for a Head of Cloud Transition to drive this activity.
Main duties of the job:
To be the DHCW lead on the Cloud Transition Programme delivering the DHCW Cloud strategy and associated benefits.
This will include the mobilisation and delivery of a Programme of work to transition national digital services into cloud hosted environments, up-skill staff, modernise working practices/tooling, reduce data centre footprint, and ensuring that DHCW realises the benefits of its transition to cloud.
The Head of Cloud Transition will lead, provide structure, and manage the co-ordinated organisation, direction, and implementation of the programme and activities of significant size, complexity, and risk to achieve outcomes and realise benefits of major strategic importance to DHCW and NHS Wales.
The postholder will manage teams of programme and project staff engaged in delivering the programme and digital change to NHS Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
If applicable to your post, you may be required to participate in a paid on-call system.
This post is fixed term for 3 years to meet the needs of the service.
Role Requirements:
Relevant professional registration such as: APM Registered Project Professional or PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner
Practical experience, working at this level, across the range of work procedures and practices.
Theoretical and specialist knowledge gained via relevant certification such as Agile Project Management Practitioner.
Experience of successfully leading and managing several complex transformation programmes within a large complex environment, or leading and managing programmes that have been in a specialist, or work stream strand, lead role within a programme.
Highly proficient in the management and mitigation of programme issues and risks.
Significant knowledge and understanding of the NHS, including the political, strategic and operational environment in which it operates.
