Shift: Variable D/N, 6:30a-7p (Sun) / 6:30p-7a (Mon,Tues), 12x3, 36hrs per week

Length: 13 weeks

Weekday call approximately 4x a month. This doesn’t mean the traveler will be called in but it’s in case the tech working needs help.

Requirements:

• 1 year experience
• Pediatric experience
• Vascular experience
• Experience in scanning the pediatric population
• Be able to perform portable exams
• BLS
• Certified through ARDMS

• Locals not accepted, 100 mile radius from the facility

Ultrasound Tech
Sunday: 630a-7p (day)Monday: 630p-7a (overnight)Tuesday: 630p-7a (overnight)

Comfortable working independentlyo The traveler wouldn’t completely be on their own during the overnight hours. We always have a tech that is on backup call in case the tech working has a question or needs help. The backup call tech will come in to the hospital if need be.
Be able to perform portable examso Most of the exams we do in the overnight hours are portables.The ER is located on the same floor as Ultrasound. Some techs prefer to bring the patient down to the department, others prefer to go portable and scan the patient in their ER room.o NICU exams are done at 2am or anytime the tech has time in the overnight hours.
Experience in scanning the pediatric populationo During this shift the tech would primarily scan the following exams:RenalsPylorusIntussusceptionHeads (neonates)AppendixSome vascularSoft Tissue exams**Of course these are the main exams but we do get a few other exams here and there during these hours.
Weekday call approximately 4x a month. This doesn’t mean the traveler will be called in but it’s in case the tech working needs help.
Tech license does not have to be Nebraska specific… traveler needs to be certified through ARDMS.
The ultrasound team will do any training that is necessary for the traveler if they aren’t confident in a particular study.
