Soliant is actively seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time, contract position in Lackawanna, NY, for the 2024/2025 school year. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Deliver specialized instruction in both inclusive and separate settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure student success.
- Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure pliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid New York State Special Education teaching certification.
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education best practices.
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
State-Specific Requirements:
- Must hold an active Special Education teaching certification issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
- Familiarity with New York State special education laws and procedures is required.
