Robert Half is recruiting for a strong Controller Consultant for a non-profit organization in the Long beach area. The consultant will be responsible for an efficient and accurate month-end close process. This includes balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all subledgers and reports match the general ledger, preparing any adjusting journal entries and preparing financial reports. In addition, the consultant will assist with external audit preparation of audit schedules, documenting SOPs, and assisting the CFO in board meeting presentation preparation.

Skills:

- Knowledge of SAGE 100 preferred

-Non profit experience or fund accounting

- Knowledge of US GAAP

- Experience with external audit preparation

- Intermediate Excel experience is required (VLookUps, Pivot Tables)

-Ability to communicate with all levels of management in a cross functional team environment

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in Sage 100 software is required

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Must have experience in preparing Audit Schedules

• Proficient in Financial Reporting

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required, a master's degree is preferred

• Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required

• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Demonstrated ethical behavior, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills

• Must have a strong understanding of non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
