Senior Corporate Lawyer (BVI-based)

This top-tier offshore law firm is looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to take on a key strategic role in its small but high-performing BVI team. Joining at Senior Associate or perhaps Counsel level, you will soon be leading on a wide range of corporate matters and will be expected to contribute fully to the firm's business development and marketing efforts. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who is ambitious, who is motivated to build a book of business, and who is looking to really take a step up in their responsibility and impact.

British Virgin Islands

For some, the BVI is the pick of the Caribbean. A mountainous, rain-forested interior surrounded by picture-postcard bays, it is probably not far from the idyllic image that might cross your mind when you ponder whether there is ‘more to life’. It’s not for everyone. You will need to be comfortable with a slower pace, you will see its remoteness as a gift rather than an inconvenience, and you will be the sort of person who gets more out of sailing, diving, or relaxing on the beach than you do from the buzz of city life. If that’s you, you will love it here. Not to mention that the work, much of it emanating out of China/Asia, is some of the most interesting and challenging in the sector.

Process

Requirements

To secure a work permit in the BVI you will need to be admitted as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK. This role is likely to suit someone with around 5 or 6 years’ PQE but more experienced Associates are encouraged to apply. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good track record of advising on high-value corporate work gained with a respected City or leading regional (or equivalent) law firm.
