Job Description

Turley is a planning and development consultancy operating nationally across the UK and Ireland. We are looking for an energetic and eager Senior Consultant/Consultant to join our Strategic Communications team based in Manchester.

At Turley we believe in shaping better places - and to create great places you must include people. Turley Strategic Communications focuses on engaging people, and their influence on the design, planning and place-making process.

In this role you will be a key member of the Strategic Communications team working alongside high-profile clients across the urban regeneration, new communities housing, and hotels sectors in Manchester and the North West.

You will be a key part of our project delivery team, developing and deploying communications strategies, preparing and delivering public consultations on complex and sometime contentious projects, and engaging with politicians and community groups to build understanding and reduce project risks. Consultancy based experience is advantageous as well as skills in Media Relations, Corporate Communications and Consumer Marketing or Social Value to support our client work in these areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to progress a career in strategic communications, whilst developing project management skills and commercial expertise supported by industry experts in a friendly and progressive working environment.

Desired knowledge, skills and experience

We are seeking a Senior Consultant/Consultant with the ability to work at pace, with a passion for the built environment and placemaking. If you are a motivated individual with a strong track record of working in a PR, communications or consultancy role this opportunity could be for you.

Ideally, candidates will have or be working towards CIPR, PRCA or equivalent membership.

Candidates should be adaptable with an ability to learn quickly, develop strong relationships both internally and externally, deliver high quality work and enjoy working as part of a team.

Prior experience and a passion for corporate communications, PR and public affairs generally will help set your application apart.

Within the Strategic Communications team, I’ve had the chance to work on a wide range of projects, from residential and logistics schemes to sports stadiums and life science campuses. Together with the company's training and support, this has allowed me to advance my knowledge and abilities, enabling me to progress to senior consultant after first joining the company as an assistant.
