Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate podiatrist to join our family!


Soleus Podiatry is a modern and forward-thinking clinic in the beautiful town of Ilminster, South Somerset. The practice was established 18 years ago, growing into a self-contained 4-room facility in January 2021.


Our mission is to facilitate our community to live happy and active lives. We aspire to be an example of gold-standard podiatry provision for South Somerset, utilising pioneering and proven treatment modalities to make a meaningful impact. We are working to be an inspirational clinic, and become a hub for student placements and apprentices who will benefit from our wealth of experience. We are already proud of what we have achieved and seek to grow our reputation further, becoming an integral part of our local community.


We are looking for a full-time (preferred) team member who will have a good understanding and competence of current best practice in all general areas of podiatry care, to include nail surgery, swift (training can be provided), orthoses prescription and exercise rehabilitation. We also undertake nail reconstruction and bracing, training for which will be provided if not already experienced.


You will also be comfortable engaging in our marketing activities such as social media, occasionally taking part in community events and spreading the word about our amazing profession. You may be required to have students shadow you or perhaps mentor them.

We are looking for a motivated and engaged practitioner who aligns with our vision of being a big shiney example of what podiatry can do! We value our practitioners by dedicating time to listen to concerns, involving team members in decision making, nurturing a low-stress environment, encouraging furtherance of skills and confidence, providing CPD to support career pathway, and mentoring their journey as part of our team.


We get around 70 new patients join us each month, and so far have been awarded 77 5* reviews on Google.


Work/life balance is extremely important to us. That is why we found balance in working our 36 hours over 4.5 days, but within that we can be flexible regarding working pattern.


I (Janey) know what it is like to be bored to tears by the humdrum, the constant treadmill of the same patients over and over. So one of my priorities is making sure my team keep on developing and reaching their potential. I have dedicated time and energy into developing myself as a leader- ensuring the right balance of challenge and support for my team; making sure to notice and recognise good work and team work. I also involve my team in decision making and give them autonomy to undertake their work in the way that suits them and gets them the best results.

Our current work pattern is 9.30-6.30 Mon, 8.30-5.30 T/W/T, 8.30 -12.30 Fri, but as we have sole occupancy of our clinic we can do what we like!


Starting salary £28k-£40k depending on experience.


The town of Ilminster itself offers lots of recreational facilities, independent fair trade shopping, designer boutiques and artisan foods, 3 gyms and beautiful countryside to explore. With excellent connections to London, Bristol or Exeter and only 30 mins from the South Coast, it is an ideal and beautiful place to set down roots and enjoy an outdoor laidback lifestyle.
