We have a fantastic opportunity for a Customer Sustainability Manager – Carbon and Environment within DS Smith, a leading provider of sustainable packaging worldwide. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for sustainability, focusing on carbon management and customer engagement.

Customer Sustainability Manager – Carbon and Environment
Location:
UK (Hybrid - Paddington Square and home-based)
Rate:
£173- £250 per day
Contract Length:
Temporary - potential for extension
Shift Patterns:
Full-time, flexible hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers on carbon-related topics, aligning DS Smith’s sustainability efforts with their decarbonization targets.
- Lead key customer collaborations on carbon performance, identifying alignment opportunities.
- Develop and deliver internal training for Sales teams on DS Smith’s sustainability goals.
- Ensure accuracy in customer carbon disclosures and improve methodologies for data collection.
- Manage and refine carbon tools for more accurate Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations.
- Represent DS Smith in industry groups, advocating for alignment in carbon footprint methodologies.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in engineering or energy management, particularly in carbon footprint calculations.
- Exceptionally strong analytical and Excel skills for data modeling and reporting.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with a proven ability to translate technical data for diverse audiences.
Desirable Requirements:
- Driving license and use of a car (for occasional travel to customers/sites).
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Science-Based Targets (SBTi).
