Assistant Estimator

Your Company:

Our client, a reputable General Contractor with 30 years of industry presence, is looking to expand their dynamic team by hiring an Assistant Estimator. Specializing in commercial projects throughout the DC Metro Area, they boast a diverse portfolio that encompasses restaurants, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and unique construction projects. Their enduring industry relationships have fostered a steady stream of repeat business, underscoring their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

Your New Role:

In the role of Assistant Estimator, you will collaborate directly with the Senior Estimator and Project Managers, playing a key role in the preparation of multiple bids each week. Your contributions will be crucial across a variety of sectors, including commercial, interiors, and retail, with a particular emphasis on comprehensive mixed-use commercial projects within the healthcare industry. This will encompass a range of assignments from renovations and fit-outs to select foundational construction tasks. You’ll engage in:

• Subcontractor liaison: Ensuring clear communication and scope confirmation.
• Bid follow-ups: Maintaining momentum in the bidding process.
• Data management: Utilizing Build Connect, reviewing specifications, performing take-offs, and organizing estimating binders.

We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 1-2 years in estimating from with a Subcontractor or GC background.
• Knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and other trades is a plus.
• A curious mind: Eager to learn and ask questions.
• Attention to detail: With an understanding of delivery dates and schedules.
