General Manager - The Vines (The Big House)

The Vines is a magnificent, National Heritage award winning pub located on Renshaw Street. It is part of The 1936 Pub Company - the group behind The Monro, Love & Rockets, The White Hart, Papillon, The Red Lion, and others. The Vines is a Grade II* listed public house, built in 1907 and operating as a public house since 1867, it is a gem in Liverpool's bustling hospitality sector.

The Vines is seeking an experience general manager with a passion for cask ales and excellent draught, a keen eye for talent, and desire to provide exceptional service in an exceptional venue.

The Job

Produce weekly financial reports detailing venue performance.

Cellar management: achieve and maintain 5* cask marque status.

Produce weekly rotas in line with company forecasts and targets.

Conductmanagement meetings with the operations team to discuss venue performance relative to KPIs.

Cost management with respect to stock, consumables, and dry orders.

Manage GP margins and stock performance.

Ensure staff provide a welcoming, warm atmosphere through effective hiring and training.

Hire & trainnew staff members interviews, references, enrolment, health & safety training and risk assessments, relevant training program organisation and sign off.

Handle disciplinary situations in line with HR procedures.

Provide guidance and mentor staff and encourage progression for ambitious, high-performing staff members.

Necessary Experience

General manager experience in a high volume bar/pub environment.

Experience with cellar management - draught & cask systems.

Experience leading a large team - staff & management.
