Job Description
Weekly Pay Range - $786 To $873
**Job Title:** Certified Home Health/Hospice Aide
**Job Specialty:** Hospice Aide
**Job Duration:** 14 weeks
**Shift:** Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Hospice experience required
**License:** Licensed driver with an insured automobile
**Certifications:**
- Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau, in good standing
**Must-Have:**
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
- Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training
**Job Description:**
- Perform and assist patients with various personal care services under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist
- Observe patients, report observations, and document care performed
- Ensure quality, continuity, and safety in patient care
- Comply with relevant regulations, including avoiding administering medications or procedures requiring nursing skills
- Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups effectively
- Maintain knowledge of technology and equipment pertinent to the role
- Follow policies and procedures to minimize infection risks
- Exhibit self-motivation and initiative in work activities
- Establish effective working relationships, maintaining sensitivity and tact
- Communicate effectively through oral and written means
- Provide patient and family support with empathy and understanding
- Prioritize patient safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures
- Travel may be required between various organization locations
- Provide specialized care to the terminally ill and secure with issues of death/dying
- Show empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired
- Uphold the hospice philosophy and demonstrate comfort in providing care for terminally ill patients
