Job Description

Staffpower Healthcare are recruiting for multiple Support Workers to support children and young people in residential settings, bespoke, unique and home settings across the North East of England. We aim to offer roles within your geographical areas such as Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, Middlesbrough and Redcar.

The role:

* Supporting vulnerable children and young people with a range of needs including, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health issues, ADHD and Autism, these duties and responsibilities cannot totally define or encompass all tasks which may be required.

* You will be expected to work and care in a way that helps promote the individual’s independence.

* You will be required to follow a specific care plan for each individual in your care which will demonstrate the needs of the individual, their likes dislikes and how they want to live their lives this will be in the child/young person care plans and risk assessments.

* You will be in a team of healthcare professionals across the board from other support workers to social workers, police and medical services.

* You will be supplying the best care to each individual; this must be person centred and promote independence and support achieving the best possible outcomes for the individual.

* You must be able to supply the children/ young people with basic life skills.

* Increase children/ young people's opportunities for independence, basic cooking, cleaning and money management.

* Work in partnership with other care professionals

* Promote equality and diversity

* Help to improve the quality of life for individuals and assist people maximize their own skills and development

The candidate:

* Always be punctual and presentable

* Always remain professional

* Maintain the utmost confidentiality about adults in our care.

* Maintain data protection and adhere to GDPR

* Report any accident or incident occurring during a period of support immediately to your line manager and care home manager

* Adhering to all policies, procedures outlined in Staffpower Group’s application procedures
