Mechanical Associate - £65,000-£75,000 + Full benefits package + Hybrid working

What they are looking for:


  • Educated to degree level with a professional chartered qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ industry experience at senior engineer level
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering small and large scale projects in the UK.
  • Experience of leading projects as lead mechanical engineer.
  • Ability to act as project manager reviewing Mechanical designs for a range of projects
  • Develop project scope with design team / clients including budgeting and reporting Implement and oversee successful design solutions for projects
  • Oversee team resource to ensure successful project delivery
  • Mentoring and development of junior engineering staff
  • With support of the leadership team, prepare bids and fee submissions
  • Assist the wider management team with business development and project financial control activities


What you’ll be doing:


  • Perform the role of Associate and project lead on key projects
  • Take lead role on projects, including mechanical design, project management, attendance at design team meetings and site meetings, and responsibility for project delivery.
  • Report back to management on progress of current projects.
  • Oversee resource management of junior engineers and CAD/BIM technicians to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform site visits and technical surveys of existing mechanical installations and recommend potential solutions to improve systems.
  • Deliver technical presentations, reports, specifications, etc.
  • Assist with in-house finance functions, including fee collection, fee proposals, etc. Assist in business development, including meeting with new/prospective clients, communicating the company service offering, etc.
  • Provide mentoring of junior engineering staff. Assist in building collaborative and engaged teams
