Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Professionally represent GH Phipps and effectively support Company strategic initiatives
  • Establish and foster positive long-term relationships with internal customers and business partners
  • Execute GH Phipps policies and procedures
  • Embraces a lean culture and work environment

  • Cultivate new and existing business relationships by engaging in client pursuits, RFP's, and interviews; positively promote Company to external business partners and contacts
  • Provide consistent and effective leadership, guidance and support to operations team
  • Work with executive leadership, preconstruction, and project teams to determine effective project profitability strategies
  • Work with preconstruction to ensure efficient hand-off to operations team
  • Optimize client satisfaction and successful project completion through keen owner and contract management, combined with rigorous oversight of operational controls such as costing, forecasting, cash flow, scheduling, change management, RFI's, submittals, etc.
  • Oversee and lead optimal utilization of labor, material, and other resources
  • Monitor project performance against key metrics including schedule, cost, manpower, safety, etc.
  • Coordinate risk identification, mitigation strategy development and implementation of effective health, safety, environmental, and quality control programs
  • Assist project teams with resolution of owner and sub/supplier claims/disputes
  • Serve as effective and resourceful problem-solving liaison with field management/superintendents
  • Mentor project managers/engineers and support their growth through regular communication and training; develop competencies/skill sets via active problem-solving and engagement in performance management
  • Travel to jobsites, meeting and client locations as needed in support of employees, clients, project team, etc.
  • Model safe work behaviors, support and communicate safe work standards/practices and hold direct reports accountable for compliance
  • Assist with miscellaneous operational duties and team initiatives as needed
  • As a safety sensitive position, complete adherence to alcohol and drug use policies set by company
  • In-person, predictable attendance at assigned location

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field OR experience as a journeyman carpenter

EXPERIENCE

Minimum five (5) years of general commercial construction experience required

Skills

  • Proficient in CMiC
  • Proficient in Bluebeam
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and use of Primavera 6 and vPlanner
  • Coordination/lift drawings
  • Read and comprehend all disciplines of contract documents
  • Understanding of project finances
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of commercial construction
  • Understanding of total station practices for building control

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURES REQUIREMENTS

  • OSHA 30 Certification is required
  • CPR/First Aid Certified

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Verifiable work references demonstrating exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and communication skills
  • Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens

The salary range for this position is $ 85,000 - 102,000 annually and is dependent in experience and title/rank of position offered.
