We're expanding our Finance team and are on the lookout for a Finance Reporting Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and transparency of our financial reporting processes. As a Finance Reporting Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering timely and accurate financial insights that drive strategic decision-making for our organisation.

Your Role:

As the Finance Reporting Manager, you will oversee La Fosse's financial reporting obligations and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. You will also collaborate closely with various teams to streamline financial processes and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our reporting practices.

You’ll be joining our Finance team, where you’ll act as a trusted partner to the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate and timely management accounts and financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and involves working closely with senior management to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.

Requirements

We are looking to hire someone who loves processes and overseeing management accounts. They will partner with all areas of the finance team, including billing, client, and candidate care, to ensure the management and statutory accounts are generated in a complete, timely and accurate manner. They will work closely with the business insights team to ensure data is accurate and relevant to decision-making. They will also drive continuous process improvement throughout the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial/Management Accounting

  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met and develop processes to streamline and improve financial reporting timelines
  • Oversee preparation of management accounts, year-end accounts, and tax returns
  • Preparation and distribution of Gross Profit/Revenue reports
  • Ensuring appropriate coding of invoices and allocation of costs
  • Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts and identification and rectification of underlying balances
  • Preparation of high-quality schedules supporting the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss accounts suitable for audit purposes
  • Develop and execute internal controls and continuously develop and maintain a risk controls matrix for the Group
  • Lead the annual statutory audit process with our external auditors
  • Comfortable with intercompany transactions and consolidation of our various subsidiaries

Financial analysis

  • Preparation of weekly trading forecasts
  • Generation of Profit and Loss accounts to a granular level and ensuring Gross Profit and costs are allocated to the correct teams and divisions
  • Assisting commercial business partners with budget preparation and forecasts

Transactional Finance excellence

  • Promoting and sharing commercial finance best practices
  • Work effectively together with other finance teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality service
  • Reviewing controls and processes; making improvements where necessary
  • Leadership across accounts payable function to maximise cashflow and drive process improvement

Management responsibilities

  • Oversight of external reporting and compliance to third parties, including banks, auditors, HMRC, etc, providing necessary documentation and resolving queries
  • Oversight of data preparation for VAT and other tax returns
  • Cashflow forecasting and management, including covenant compliance
  • Support with future debt raises, acquisitions, tax strategy, etc
  • Supervise and mentor a management and financial accountants team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Controller to design and implement process enhancements that drive efficiency and streamline activities

Who You Are:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/CA) with substantial experience in financial reporting and 2+ years post-qualified experience.
  • ‘Big 4’ or ‘Top 20’ qualification with industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, InTime, etc)
  • Proven proficiency in effective communication and seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Team player with a ‘can-do attitude’, demonstrating a hardworking and hands-on approach
  • Flexible in approach to workload and adaptable to varied content and working hours
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Proven track record of leading finance teams and driving process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards (FRS 102) and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset that can manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines
