Description

Manages the billboard ad sales process for New Mexico, west Texas and parts of Oklahoma. An ideal candidate would live in or around Amarillo, Texas and enjoy working from home when not traveling the territory.

Essential Job Functions and Tasks- These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  • Prospect for new clients via cold calling, in-person visits or scheduling meetings in assigned markets.
  • Research specific areas and/or other media or competitors to target unsold inventory.
  • Procure new sales by assisting potential customers with billboard availability, sending proposals and contracts, negotiating contract terms, and arranging payments. Follow up on all leads.
  • Manage current accounts by rolling over expiring contracts and up selling where needed.
  • Work with graphic designers to organize the design of billboards. Ensure billboards are printed correctly, to customer specifications, and posted by the promised time.
  • Conduct quarterly market rides using personal vehicle, in assigned markets. Some markets may require overnight stay in a hotel.
  • Work with operations to ensure signs are in the best condition.
  • Assist with the collection process. Contact customers for payments and submit legal collections, as needed.
  • Attend weekly market and business development meetings.
  • Manage the Business Development Associate. Oversee performance of duties, approve timesheets/PTO requests, and conduct annual performance review.
  • Perform similar or related duties as required or assigned.


Requirements

Education and Experience

High school diploma (or equivalent) is required plus two years of related experience; including high-level administrative duties and account management/reporting.

Five years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge and skill of:

• Microsoft Windows environment.

• Internet browsers.

• Outlook

Must possess great attention to detail, strong organization skills, and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Customer Service skills.

Ability to:

• Manage the Business Development Associate

• Plan and organize work

• Cold call and prospect for new clients

• Handle multiple projects at once

• Meet tight deadlines under pressure

• Manage heavy inbox workload efficiently

• Work independently and as part of a team

• Follow instructions

• Travel long distances via personal automobile.

• Stay in a hotel overnight during market rides.

Outside Sales experience, a plus.

Understanding of basic media planning terminology and concepts, a plus.

Knowledge of Out of Home Dictionary or willingness to learn, a plus.
