We are proud to be the largest family owned and family-run wine importer in the UK. We have been selling premium wine since 1964 to our ever growing customer base which includes both the on and off trade.
Veraison is Berkmann’s independent training department, specialising in wine education for hospitality staff. The Veraison programme focuses on unique in-house developed training modules which are designed utilising the most up to date behavioural science to make hospitality staff more comfortable when it comes to wine knowledge and service. Veraison is also an Approved Programme Provider for WSET courses, offering these to our trade customers in addition to our Veraison training modules.
Reporting to the Wine Training Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing bespoke training plans for key accounts, delivering tailored Veraison wine training sessions, as well as managing the WSET program for both internal and external candidates. In addition, you will be the face of Veraison, managing large elements of the marketing plan, including social media opportunities and interactions and leading the change in elevating wine culture.
We require a self-starting individual with a minimum of two years’ wine experience in either an educator, front of house or sales role, a confident and engaging communicator, excellent wine knowledge and the commercial understanding of working for a wine distributor.
The successful applicant will need to hold a minimum of WSET Level 3 in Wines and be a certified WSET Course Educator. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and willing to travel around the UK on a regular basis, in addition to holding a passport as international travel may be occasionally required.
Working Pattern
This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Whilst the core hours are 9:00 to 17:30, there will be some evening or weekend work required.
Work Location
Hybrid working, 3 days minimum either in Head Office in Clerkenwell or in trade at customer venues throughout the UK
