Job Description

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2002, Sweet&Chilli is a leading global drinks agency at the cutting edge of drinking culture and innovation headquartered in London, Sydney, Los Angeles and São Paulo. We work with brands on drinks strategy, trade advocacy and brand experience, with a drinks first approach connecting brands to both the bartending trade and the cocktail loving general public!

Within Sweet&Chilli Event Production we work with global drinks brands, luxury fashion houses, sportswear, VIPs and more on full scale event production, brand activations, launch parties, corporate events, intimate cocktail parties, festivals and gatherings.

In S&C UK, we are broadly split into Strategy & Advocacy, Creative and Event Production. These departments are supported by our Client Services, Finance and Operations teams.


JOB OVERVIEW

You will be a senior member of Sweet&Chilli’s Event Production team – managing specific client accounts and the planning, organisation and implementation of operations for their events and projects. You will be reporting to our Hospitality Director Sam Fuller.


The role will be split between office-based activity in London Bridge (S&C HQ) and Bermondsey (S&C Operations); and on-site activity, with a significant amount of time spent at events (London, nationwide & international), at site visits and at client meetings.


KEY ROLES

In this job, you are:

1. Senior Event Manager and primary contact for clients throughout the duration of allocated projects

2. Responsible for managing and delivering large-scale live event experiences with drinks focus.

3. Leading large hospitality teams by example, according to Sweet&Chilli’s ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ with a Bar Operations focus

4. Producing detailed proposals for large-scale, multi brand/activations and accurate budgets for new and existing clients and enquiries

5. To plan and deliver truly unforgettable event experiences for S&C clients


DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES

In this job, you will:

1. Deliver excellent end-to-end event management, from initial enquiry to post-event reporting

2. Be responsible for our team delivering a 5-star F&B experience

3. Be responsible for cost control of your managed events/accounts

4. Brief and lead large teams of cross-function hospitality staff (e.g. bartenders, bar-backs and drinks /food floor service staff by example)

5. Process all paperwork and administrative tasks relating to your own managed events

6. Work in a diligent and focused manner, ensuring deadlines are met with streamlined approach

7. Plan, host and deliver food and drink tastings for clients as required

8. Advise client on drinks menus, serves and stock quantities

9. Stock, assets and inventory control on projects

10. Produce detailed sales mix and M&E reports


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure excellent client service and quality control in all aspects of role

2. Research, propose and implement improved ways of working within your department

3. Identify your own personal development and training requirements to maximize effectiveness in this role

4. Identify and action/share opportunities for new business generation and development

5. Actively discuss best practices with colleagues where necessary

6. Ensure all work is both H&S & CSR compliant

7. Stock, asset and inventory control on projects


PERSONAL COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS

You are a passionate hospitality/drink industry professional with demonstrable event management skills and experience.

Strong team spirit, highly organised and prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, with a practical approach to tasks and attention to detail.

1. Extensive experience in large scale live events including VIP launch party bar operations, festival bars, drinks brand experiential activations

2. High level hospitality experience with cocktail focused background

3. Knowledge of global drinks brands

4. Practical and demonstrable work experience in the event industry

5. Strong customer/client service and 3rd party communication skills

6. Punctual, self-motivated, strong organisational and problem-solving skills

7. Strong business acumen, proficient numeracy skills and analytical skills

8. Exceptional networking and communication skills

9. Confident in organising and delivering events related documentation, H&S, RAMS and Alcohol Management plans

10. Good IT literacy across full Office 365 suite & all IOS software

11. Full UK Driving license

12. Personal Licence Holder

After 6 months of continuous work for S&C, staff are entitled to a 10% (of their annual salary) company-wide bonus. Bonus scheme details to be shared upon joining the company.

HOURS OF WORK / HOLIDAY

Minimum 5 days per week, 09:30 - 18:00.


Holiday – 25 days per calendar year pro rata plus public holidays, with no roll over & inc. compulsory days at Christmas.


In line with the nature of the hospitality and events industry, you may be required to work additional hours as may be necessary for the performance of your duties without extra remuneration.


We currently work from home on Wednesday and Thursday. However, client and supplier meetings, on-site visits and events take priority.
