Job Description

We are proud to be the largest family owned and family-run wine importer in the UK. We’ve been selling premium wine to restaurants since 1964 and our expertise has grown along with our portfolio of award winning wines from around the world including Antinori, Ridge and Vega Sicilia. The wineries we represent are like us – progressive and fiercely independent – and we proudly supply their wines to our extensive customer base.


Based in London, the successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the trends and key challenges affecting the wine category in each sector.


Using relevant insights, and industry soecific data, the Trade Marketing Manager will manage channel marketing and key customer marketing. You will focus on the development and delivery of inspiring, value-adding and effective activations and promotions on our wine brands.


The ideal candidate will work on corporate marketing initiatives to further strengthen Berkmann Wine Cellars as a premium wine supplier and manage both channel and key account marketing.


As well as developing and executing annual trade marketing plans, they will have the ability to drive sales and gross profit across our key agency wines ensuring that the key brand messages are effectively & clearly delivered to the customer on time and within budget. They will be a key point of contact for the sales team regarding new pitches and will work on marketing aspects of trade events, such as the Annual Portfolio Tasting.


You will need to have trade marketing experience, (preferably but not essential) within the drinks industry. Be able to work independently on your own initiative, be commercially minded with a solid numerical understanding, applicable to business challenges, as well as have excellent communication skills and computer literacy.

If you have a demonstrable skill set and a genuine interest and passion for wine, with a WSET level 2 qualification as a minimum, then we would like to hear from you!

• Salary range £40k-£50k; dependant upon experience

Working Pattern

This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:30pm) but the individual must be flexible according to business needs. 3-4 days in our office in Exmouth Market, the remainder are work from home.
