Position Summary A Permanent Full-Time 1.0fte Medical Lab Technologist position now available at the Arrow Lakes Hospital in Nakusp, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of B.C. The hours of work for this position are: 06:30 to 14:30, 07:00 to 15:00, 07:30 to 15:30, 09:00 to 17:00 Applicable positions may qualify for up to $20,000 as a recruitment incentive and/or be eligible for relocation allowance. About the job: We offer a generalist MLT position with interesting and varied work within all areas of Core with some phlebotomy. This site does not have acute care beds, but offers laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and doctors’ offices. Typical duties include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents. MLT’s work scheduled day shifts at this site with participation in the on-call scheduled required. Qualfications • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS • One (1) year recent related experience
