Job Description

Position Summary East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), located in Cranbrook, B.C., has an immediate relief, full time Physiotherapist opening. This position is to provide coverage until September 2024, or the return of incumbent. Services include physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, level 3 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care. A Physiotherapist’s scope of practice may include Acute Inpatients (medical and surgical floors), Inpatient Rehabilitation, Outpatient Orthopaedics and/or Outpatient Neurological. Patient types will range from pediatrics to geriatrics, complex frail, medical and surgical. Services operate seven days per week. Most Physiotherapy and Rehab Assistant positions rotate, which allows exposure to different areas of practice. About this location | Located in the southeastern corner of British Columbia, Cranbrook is the business capital of the East Kootenays and the largest city in the Rocky Mountain Region. Nestled on a gentle plain with scenic mountain vistas in the distance, it is considered by many to be an ideal location to raise a family or retire. Boasting more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in the province, its residents enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities including golf, hiking and skiing. For those who enjoy more urban pursuits, there are shops, boutiques and cafés, as well as an arts centre and heritage attractions. Cranbrook’s economy is driven primarily by mining, forestry, transportation and tourism. Qualfications • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professions of British Columbia (CHCPBC) [formerly College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC)]. • Valid Driver’s license where required.
