We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Operations Intern to support our operations team. The intern will assist with the coordination of logistics, shipment tracking, and documentation processes. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of freight forwarding and global supply chain management, working alongside a team of industry professionals.

Important Considerations:
  • On-site role
  • Location: Miami, FL (DP World does not offer accommodations throughout internships)
  • Strong performance could lead to a full-time position after graduation
  • 10-week program that will run from June 2nd, 2025 to August 8th, 2025
  • Department: Freight Forwarding
AREAS OF FOCUS
  • Assist in coordinating the movement of goods through various modes of transportation, including air, ocean, and ground.
  • Support the team in tracking shipments and ensuring timely and accurate updates to internal systems and customers.
  • Help prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and other regulatory documents.
  • Conduct research on shipping routes, transit times, and carrier options to optimize cost and delivery timelines.
  • Assist with maintaining communication with carriers, vendors, and customers to resolve shipment issues and delays.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in process improvement projects, helping to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the team on inventory management, warehouse coordination, and logistics planning.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous internship or work experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
  • Familiarity with freight management software or transportation management systems (TMS).
