As a maintenance engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Team Leader. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair all equipment within your designated department. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the production line, adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards to prevent contamination. Given that the product has a long shelf life, there is ample downtime, allowing you to focus on proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.

The role as a maintenance engineer:
Attend to breakdowns, reactive maintenance to enable continued production
Use and record PPM's and breakdowns on Pirana maintenance system
Day to day maintenance of:
Slicing machines
Packaging machines
Retail machines (including labellers, pneumatics, nitrogen equipment, air blasts and steam cookers) This will include vac packing machines, vac pumps and film over-wrapping machines
Strip down the machines for hygiene purposes and re-build these after cleaning
Maintain and service temperature control equipment
Identify opportunities for improvements to the department
Being the ambassador for the site at all times, behaving in a professional and courteous manner with both internal and external customers
Undertake other jobs as reasonably requested within the scope of the job to improve the running of the department Skills and Experience Required in this Maintenance Engineers role
Electrical or Mechanical engineering background
Electrical qualification needed
Relevant engineering qualifications - minimum of a level 3 Engineering NVQ BTEC C&G etc
Ability to work unsupervised (although advice and guidance will be available where required)
Ideally experience of working in the food industry, however most FMCG environments will be considered.
Demonstrated history of working in both a reactive and proactive maintenance service Benefits of this Maintenance Engineers Role
Monday - Friday 6.30am - 3.30pm
Basic Salary of £45,000 pa
Paid overtime - 1.5x on Saturday & 2x on Sunday's
On call rate of £150 + any call outs paid at a minimum of 4 hours (Minimal no production on a Saturday normally)
28 days holiday plus Christmas shut down.
Company pension & Free on site parking.
