Job Posting: The Site Supervisor will be under the supervision of Recreation Supervisor, to manage the on-site operations for athletic events at Rotary Park.

AVAILABILITY
  • Able to work various shifts and schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on staffing needs.
  • Schedule might change depending on weather
  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Seasonal Part-Time, prefer someone who can be available March to November depending on the weather


JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Must have exceptional verbal communication skills. Successful candidate must be dependable and be able to work independently.
  • Prepare field for play by setting up any necessary equipment for play and preparing score sheets for officials. Drag softball fields if necessary, add drying agent to wet areas of field to make athletic field playable. Apply field chalk when needed.
  • Supervise part-time staff in absence of Recreation Supervisor.
  • Collect completed rosters and waivers from each team prior to play
  • The Site Supervisor will be expected to keep safe, fun and sportsmanship like playing environment and an organized experience for staff and contracted umpires.
  • Complete necessary paperwork including scoresheets, ejection reports, injury reports, inventory sheets, and player rosters.
  • Put away all equipment used and collect all scorecards/score sheets from officials.
  • Must be able to enforce league rules and keep coaches, players, parents, umpires and scorekeepers on task.
  • Clean up debris and garbage at conclusion of day in and around surrounding field/area
  • Provide first aid supplies to participants injured during activity. Complete accident/incident reports in their entirety and submit within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Inform Recreation Supervisor of daily operational needs problems, and player feedback.
  • Be knowledgeable and remain calm, alert while executing emergency evacuations and severe weather alert procedures.
  • This position requires some lifting (up to 60 lbs.), substantial standing and walking.
  • Rake, sweep, blow and pick up clippings, paper, and trash from athletic fields.
  • At ball fields, turn on/off lights when necessary.
  • Install and remove temporary fencing.
  • Clean restrooms and ensure restrooms are properly stocked with necessary supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
  • Must be able to complete required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to follow both oral and written direction without constant supervision.
  • Following park opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with concession stand operations during high volume times or as needed.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18, (21 preferred) with a Valid Illinois State Driver's license
  • Riding mower, push mower, edger, weed eater, light-duty vehicles, sprayers, drag, sweeper, trimmers, rack, blowers, shovel, chalk, and other small hand tools.
  • Preferable experience in playing baseball/softball, maintaining athletic fields, landscaping, baseball/softball scorekeeping, or sports management experience.

Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical work with prolonged standing and walking for extended periods of time, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, stretching, bending, pushing, stooping, climbing, crouching, crawling, moving, lifting and carrying loads weighing between 50-95 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is loud when operating equipment.
