Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Foster strong customer relationships in a team-based selling model.
- Manage deliveries according to the transportation department's schedule and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the order process.
- Communicate with customers and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through market intelligence databases, networking, and attending industry events.
- Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products and prices.
- Drive to customers and prospects to ensure product delivery.
Supervision:
No direct reports.
Relationships
- Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.
- External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers.
Work Environment
Frequently outside the office environment working in the field visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships and develop new business through cold calling.
- Exceptional customer service and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience using Customer Relationship Management tools preferred.
Education
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications/Training
N/A.
Licenses
Valid driver's license required.
Physical Qualifications
Must be able to perform various physical activities, including standing, walking, driving, lifting, and carrying objects.
