Salary: £21,899.98 per annum (35 hours FTE)

The Modern Apprenticeship is a great way to kick start your career with Scottish Borders Council. You will gain a nationally recognised qualification without having to study full-time while gaining skills for future employment. The qualification you will achieve whilst carrying out this role is Business & Administration SCQF Level 6.

Business Support are on the lookout for a Modern Apprentice to provide business support to a range of services across the organisation. This post will be based within our Operations Business Support Team, however may be required to work flexibly across teams to support the Business Needs.

Operations Business Support provide support to many teams across the organisation including: Trade Waste, Insurance, Housing Strategy, Parks & Environment and Road Operations.

Day to day tasks for this role include:
-General office admin tasks such as operating shared mailboxes and answering calls.
-Use of bespoke software for allocating enquiries to the appropriate people.
-Dealing with enquiries from members of the public.
- Recording information into various databases and spreadsheets.
- Processing insurance claim and memorial bench requests.

Essential

In accordance with Scottish Borders Council priorities, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.
