Job Description

Do you have the skills and experience to teach young people in maths up to GCSE Standard?

We are looking to recruit a full time Teacher to deliverMaths up to GCSE level, including Functional Skills to young people aged 15-24 and apprentices.

About Midlands ETS

Barnardo's Employment, Training and Skills Midlands is a Training Provider based in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham. From this service we providelearning and skills programmes foryoung people aged 15-24 including: DfE 16-19 Study Programme, Apprenticeships, including those delivered to our staff team across England and corporately funded employer recruitment programmes and 15-16 alternative provision in partnership with local schools.

Barnardo's Employment, Training and Skills Midlands aims to engage, motivate and support young people to achieve qualifications, to enable young people to progress and secure sustainedpositive destinations such as further education or employment to improve their own life chances and provide a positive future.

Specific responsibilities:

Providing better outcomes for more children and young people and building positive futures:

  • To develop and ensure quality delivery ofallMaths qualifications on alllearning programmes that enable young people to achieve and progress into a positive destination including an Apprenticeship, Further Education or sustainable employment.
  • To ensure the highest possible standard of service delivery through the maintenance and monitoring of individualised learning programmes.
  • To meet the highest possible standard of service delivery required following OFSTED guidelines through the development, maintenance and monitoring oftailored training programmes.
  • Undertake a robust assessment to identify young people's needs, appropriate levels and record progress of achieved towards their goals.
  • Offer relevant and appropriateMaths to young people with a range of learning needs, in order to increase their confidence and employability.
  • Offer appropriate support and learning in Maths to all learners to enable them to succeed in a vocational setting, achieve their learning aim and progress positively in their chosen career.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.
