Info about what the role entails

This Field Service Engineer is a 5 days per week on the road role. You will be paid from as soon as you leave home and cover the Derby, Nottingham and Midlands area up to Sheffield. You will arrive on site, determine the fault using test equipment (multi-meter, oscilloscope etc) and interpret the test results. Once you have diagnosed the fault you will then service the equipment replacing the component rather than repairing test, install, service / replace. The product is electrical / electronic bias, so it has data communications, ModBus, addressable systems, control panels, instrumentation etc its not heavy mechanical.You will need to be flexible

Essential Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Electronics / electrical / electro-mechanical qualifications - able to fault find, service, repair in an electro-mechanical environment
• Able to use basic test equipment for fault diagnosis - multi-meter, oscilloscope
• Happy to travel and used to travelling in a field service type role. This role in on the road 5 days per week around the M1 area covering Nottingham, Derby all the way up to Sheffield.
• Able to operate in a variety of environments from Automotive to Steel Foundries to Aerospace Engines to Cleanroom environments like hospitals and labs - some heavy, noisy and greasy environments
• Able to be customer facing, speak to customer, instil confidence, take the initiative

Desirable Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Experience servicing / repairing in sometimes loud / dirty environments like waste waters, drainage, greasy environments is advantageous
• Customer facing experience is beneficial
