Assistant Groups Manager



The Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington are looking for Assistant Groups Manager. Our Assistant Groups Manager will be responding to guest calls, emails, and enquiries groups and taking reservations from enquiry to confirmation stage.

Working closely with Group and Reservation Manager to maximise revenue, ensuring all data’s, reporting, systems are up to date. As an Assistant Groups manager you will inspire your team, who are well-informed and support their development.

Assistant Groups Manager responsibilities:

  • Manage the Groups team at the Copthorne Tara Hotel and create a team environment which promotes the hotels vision, values and OSE
  • Ensure that all enquiries are responded to in the set time frame and all enquiries entered into Ideas and Opera, all chasing has taken place to ensure a high level of conversion and once the contract is signed all information is 100% accurate for the operations team ready for the groups arrival.
  • Manage key accounts and agencies and build a strong relationship with all of their bookers.
  • With HOD - set clear goals and develop new ideas to improve organizational processes in order to increase our ability to receive process and confirm room and group reservations.
  • Help and assist the Groups team to improve their upselling skills to improve average room rate and overall yield penetration.


About you:

  • Strong communication skills through a variety of means
  • Confidence in handling customer complaints to ensure satisfaction levels are restored in the event something doesn't go to plan.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one's own time and that of the team.
  • Ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment.
