Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Scenic Carpentry Foreman to lead our carpentry team in creating and constructing scenic builds. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scenic construction and a background in technical theatre. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the successful execution of scenic elements for various projects.

Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Location Head Quarters Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership:
* Supervise and lead a team of carpenters and technicians in the construction of scenic elements.


* Scenic Builds:
* Oversee the creation and assembly of scenic builds, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.


* Stage and Prop Design:
* Design and construct stage sets and props based on project requirements.


* Technical Theatre:
* Utilize knowledge of technical theatre to enhance the functionality and aesthetic of scenic designs.


* Project Management:
* Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other departments to ensure timely completion of projects.


* Quality Control:
* Inspect and maintain the quality of all carpentry work, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.


* Problem-Solving:
* Address and resolve any technical or construction challenges that arise during projects.


* Budget Management:
* Assist in managing budgets for scenic construction and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness.



Qualifications:

* Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in scenic carpentry, stage design, and prop construction.


* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in carpentry, scenic construction techniques, and the use of relevant tools and equipment.


* Leadership:
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.


* Technical Theatre:
* Background in technical theatre, with knowledge of stagecraft, rigging, and production techniques.


* Communication:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.


* Detail-Oriented:
* High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.


* Problem-Solving:
* Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing project requirements.



Physical Demands:

* Manual Dexterity:
* Ability to use hands to manipulate tools and materials with precision.


* Physical Stamina:
* Capability to stand, bend, and lift materials for extended periods.


* Safety Awareness:
* Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
